Before joining the SportsMD Directory, you may have a few questions about the benefits of the service. Below are a few frequently asked questions to help you:
The SportsMD Physician and Expert Directory will help you get more patients. 50,000 athletes and parents visit SportsMD monthly in search of sports related content and the best sports specialized physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, sports nutritionists and massage therapists. SportsMD offers physicians and experts two possible Directory tiers – (1) a Basic Directory listing or (2) a Premium Directory listing.
A SportsMD Basic Directory Listing is free to doctors, experts or facilities and is a simple solution to increase awareness of their practice and expertise. The listing includes name, address, and phone number.
Premium Listings provide you with a "Full Featured Bio Page" and are designed to catch the patient's eye throughout SportsMD.com and provide a better and more focused local marketing service. With a Premium Listing, your bio page will also include the following:
- Full Featured Bio Page including everything the basic service offers plus, bio overview, your photo, website link, specialties, education, and In the News Section
- Premium Listing is displayed before the basic listings on the top of state wide search results.
- Premium listing allows you to be featured on the home page of SportsMD.com for state wide visitors. (Premium Local Profiles are continuously rotated)
- Featured on every injury content page so injured people will see local doctors and experts in their area. (Premium Local Premium Profiles are continuously rotated)
- Have access to 50,000 health minded sports visitors per month
The SportsMD Physician and Expert Directory is comprised of a limited group of carefully-selected, top sports medicine doctors, physical therapists, athletic trainers, sports nutritionist and massage therapists. To be included in the SportsMD Physician and Expert Directory, each listing candidate must meet certain criteria established by SportsMD and its advisors. In broad terms, the listing criteria is based on, and shaped by the following:
For Doctors
- Practice and focus in sports medicine
- Sports fellowship trained
- Member of American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine
- Pro, College, or High School sports team physician present or past
- Minimum 5 peer reviewed publications.
For Physical Therapists
- Licensed Physical Therapist
- Sports Certified Specialist
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy
- Certified Athletic Trainer
- Pro, College, or High School sports team PT/Trainer present or past
For Athletic Trainers
- Certified Athletic Trainer
- Present or past profession related to athletic training in education, research, medicine
For Sports Nutritionists
- Registered and licensed dietitian
- Expertise in sports nutrition
For Massage Therapists
- Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
- Graduate of massage training with sports message as a specialty
- Continuing education in sports massage
- Present or past Pro, College, High School or sports team massage therapist
Volume discounts are not available for Group Practices or Facilities. The Premium Membership Listing is $84 annually for each participant.
The SportsMD Directory will help generate patient leads and provide you with a valuable web presence where injured athletes come to for help. SportsMD does all the work in building your bio page and marketing you online within SportsMD.com and our other vertical sites TennisMD.comand GolfersMD.com. Our Directory service is hassle-free for you or your administrative staff as you can submit your bio information via a CV and any updates can be made by email or phone.

- Featured on Home pages - Premium service allows you to be featured on the home pages of the SportsMD websites for local visitors
- Featured in Content Pages - Every injury content page will include a "Premium featured doctor or expert" so injured people will see local doctors and experts in their area.
A SportsMD Premium Listing typically will be processed and activated within 24 - 48 hours. You will have the opportunity to verify your premium listing and make changes. A basic listing will typically be processed in 5 business days.
Your SportsMD Directory Listing will appear on SportsMD.com, TennisMD.com and GolfersMD.com, which have a top navigation called "Directory" that links to the listings. We also rotate our Premium listings on the home page of SportsMD.com and in every page within the website. The local visitor will only see doctors or experts that are local to their area. This is based on a location based IP feature we have implemented.

A SportsMD Premium Physician Listing is sold as an annual subscription. You will be billed upfront for your initial 12 month subscription.
Credit card information submitted by you will be processed, and your credit card will be charged by SportsMD.
